Anupa Mistry is an editor at The FADER, and a long-time arts and culture journalist based in Toronto. Her work has appeared in The Guardian, The Globe & Mail, Rookie, Gawker, Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, NOW, FLARE, and elsewhere.
Princess Nokia is an Afro-Nuyorican independent alternative hip hop and R&B recording artist and songwriter based in New York City. Most recently starring in The Fader’s documentary “Destiny”, Princess Nokia has been featured in Refinery 29, Paper Mag, V Mag, iD, Dazed, Subbacultcha, and Fact Mag among others.
Thank You Kindly and Nino Brown are pleased to present Princess Nokia: In Conversation. Fresh off of a sold out tour in 2016, Nokia is stopping in Toronto to perform alongside Nino Brown and Bambii, before going back to Europe for round two. Following her Saturday performance, Princess Nokia will join Anupa Mistry of The Fader, for a casual Sunday conversation – elucidating on themes of urban feminism, the music industry, goddess power and creative development.
